# Kickstart Your Career: The 2024 Internship Program at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu RI) serves as the primary government body responsible for managing the nation’s international relations and foreign policy. Formerly known as the Department of Foreign Affairs (Deplu RI), the ministry plays a pivotal role in assisting the President by shaping diplomatic strategies and maintaining global partnerships. To nurture the next generation of diplomatic experts, the Agency for Foreign Policy Strategy (BSKLN) offers a structured internship program designed to immerse students in the real-world complexities of foreign policy.

## Objectives of the BSKLN Internship Program
The primary goal of this internship is to provide university students with a hands-on learning environment. By participating directly in the daily operations of the BSKLN, interns gain invaluable insight into how national interests are navigated on the global stage, bridging the gap between theoretical academic knowledge and practical diplomatic application.

## Eligibility and Academic Requirements
To ensure a high standard of professional development, applicants must meet specific criteria before applying for the program:

* Educational Level: Open to students currently pursuing D3, D4, S1, or S2 degrees.
* Minimum Academic Standing: Must be at least in the 6th semester of their studies.
* Targeted Fields of Study: International Relations, Economics, Law, Literature, and Statistics.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential.
* Language Proficiency: While optional, a strong grasp of the English language is highly encouraged and can be verified through certifications such as TOEFL (PBT, IBT, ITP, CBT), IELTS, or TOEIC.

## Scope of Responsibilities
Interns at the BSKLN are integrated into the ministry's workflows, contributing to both independent and collaborative projects.

Individual Assignments
Each intern is tasked with creating professional-grade PowerPoint presentations focusing on specific regions or emerging geopolitical issues. These presentations are delivered directly to the Head of the Center and high-ranking officials (Eselon III/IV), providing interns with direct exposure to organizational leadership.

Collaborative Projects
Teamwork is a cornerstone of the program, with group responsibilities including:
* Drafting comprehensive research papers and policy briefs.
* Constructing detailed country-profiling matrices.
* Conducting ground research on specific regions.
* Supporting the logistics and execution of ministry-led events.
Curating issue-specific clippings from reputable international and domestic news outlets like The New York Times and The Jakarta Post*.

## Application Process and Required Documents
Placement is contingent upon the completeness of your application, the relevance of your field of study, and the current capacity of the specific working units. Interested candidates must submit the following:

1. Student Identification Card (KTM).
2. Formal Passport Photo: 4x6 cm with a blue background, wearing a university almamater jacket.
3. Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV).
4. Official Academic Transcript: Must include the most recent semester grades.
5. Official Internship Request Letter: Issued by the university and addressed to the relevant working unit. This letter should explicitly state the specific policy issues of interest (e.g., Indo-Pacific, Geopolitics, or ASEAN Cooperation).
6. Proposed Internship Period: Clearly defined dates for the assignment.

## Internship Schedule for 2024
The ministry operates on a rotating intake schedule to manage its cohorts effectively. Please align your application with the following windows:
